Since in 1967 Forster Red Angus has been raising seedstock and 100% IA Red Angus seedstock for three decades. Larry and Sally Forster started their Red Angus herd in 1967 using the bull Storm as their herd’s foundation sire. They diversified with the addition of a bull at the Wyoming Test Station that went back to the renowed Becton Rocky Mt. breeding. Their first exposure to the rest of the world of Red Angus breeders came in 1975 when they hosted the Red Angus field day for North and South Dakota; when the Dakota's were joined as one association. This herd is proud to be part of the heritage that helped to pave the road for what the Red Angus breed is today. In the early days they showed with the Black Angus and other beef breeds because there weren't separate classes for the Red Angus.

Currently Kenny and family have taken the reigns of the Red Angus operation, with the input of Larry and Sally. They continue to the tradition of quality cattle that Larry and Sally originally set forth. They have continued to promote Red Angus at every possible opportunity, not only in the show ring, but also on the range, which shows the true test of good cattle. They have served as officers of the North Dakota Red Angus Association: Kenny as president for 8 years. They believe in the Red Angus breed and what it can do for the beef cattle industry.

Forster Red Angus is a program with repetitive high standards passed from one generation to another. A product of over 30 years of raising 100% IA Angus cattle with an equal balance of moderate birth weights, high maternal traits, calving ease, superlative performance, and structural soundness. Their mother cows have continually produced offspring that are seedstock worthy on a perpetual bases, bringing their Red Angus herd to a level that has brought back many repeat customers for over three decades.

The past has not been easy but the Red Angus has weathered the storms and thrived. Red Angus do well in all types of weather, even extreme weather conditions such as dry, hot summer and cold, sub zero winter with substantial snowfall, these conditions are a true test of the adaptability of Red Angus cattle. Their cattle have had to endure extreme environmental conditions and still continue to produce good consistent offspring. It's survival of the fittest! And Forster Red Angus is among the fittest.
